Topic Description:
Refrigeration codes and standards are ever evolving. Recent changes (both proposed and final) in UL 60335-2-89 and ASHRAE 15 allow the use of flammable refrigerants (A2L, A3) in commercial refrigeration. With the drive to lower the carbon footprint of supermarkets, new refrigerant options are allowing more choices for sustainable system solutions for supermarkets. Natural refrigerants are a viable option for many, and are a part of this basket of choices. This talk will to review and discuss the latest in regulations, standards and codes, refrigerant approvals, and their impact on sustainable low GWP supermarket refrigeration system architectures.
